Saturday Festival Day Event (Sept. 28th)

 Kendama Contest hosted by the 2018 Kendama World Champion, Nick Gallagher, and his twin brother, Zack Gallagher, who is also a world-renowned kendama pro. They are both Bellevue College alumni! You can enjoy their amazing kendama demonstration after the contest. There will be separate contests for Beginning level and Intermediate level players. Winners in each group will receive a prize.  Japanese movie will be ビリギャル (“Flying Colors”) based on a true story about a failing high school student who was accepted into Keio University after meeting a teacher who believed in her abilities. [Sponsored by BC Campus Activities Board]

 Planetarium Storytime.  Audience views the Harvest Moon and Milky Way while listening to かぐや姫 (Moon Princess) and 七夕の話 (Story of Star Festival) [Presented by Voice Library in Japanese, Sponsored by BC Science and Math Institute]

 Japan Quiz Show.  Participants will use their smartphones to answer questions related to Japan. There will be a prize for the winner. [Sponsored by Seattle IT Japanese Professionals]

 Cosplay Costume Contest by SakuraCon. There will be a prize for the winner. {Sponsored by ANCEA/Sakura-Con]

 Dango Workshop Learn how to make delicious Dango. International students from Japan will be conducting this cooking workshop. [Sponsored by Uwajimaya]

-Martial Arts Demonstrations by various martial arts schools presented at the Carlson Theater.

Music and Dance Performances on the indoor stage; Taiko (drum group) Performances in the Courtyards; Tea Ceremony & Ikebana (flower arranging) demonstrations; a Karaoke Room; Yukata (summer kimono) & Samurai Armor dress-up Photo Booths; two Flea Markets; Various other lectures / workshops / demonstrations on a variety of Japan-related topics, many more activities coming soon.
