About Voice Library in Japanese

Voice Library in Japanese is a volunteer organization, established in April of 2004 as a Non-Profit Corporation in the state of Washington. Voice Library in Japanese focuses on making audio recordings of books written in Japanese and reading books aloud on the visit to wherever our services are needed (private homes, hospitals, nursing homes, etc.) for individuals in the community that are unable to read due to disabilities or otherwise.

For those living outside their homeland, being able to stay in touch with their culture through reading materials provides them the joy and comfort of their native language. Yet, various reasons keep many from enjoying reading in their native language. Voice Library’s mission is to serve the community through reading and other activities.

During the Japan Week on Saturday, we will be presenting picture stories (kami-shibai) in Japanese.
