About Ikebana International Seattle Chapter 19

Ikebana International is a worldwide non-profit cultural organization dedicated to promotion and appreciation of Ikebana, the Art of Japanese flower arranging. Founded in 1956 by the late Ellen Gordon Allen, there are 160 Chapters in 54 countries with more than 8,200 members.

Ikebana International is administered by enthusiastic volunteers of many different nationalities and Ikebana schools. Some of the schools stress classic styles, others focus on creative contemporary forms and some blend the two styles. Each school is different, openly sharing its history, inspirations, philosophy, styles and techniques with other Ikebana International Members.

Anyone interested in attending our meetings, joining or requesting an Ikebana demonstration for your organization, please contact us.
