Description | Sumayya E. Diop is a Performer and Teaching Artist of Dance, Drum & Song of the African Diaspora. Sumayya has created work in traditional & contemporary African dance of Senegal & Mali, W. Africa, and has contributed to the field of dance, music, and theatre through performance, instruction, and program development. As a teaching artist, Sumayya uses her knowledge, talent, and skill in performance to preserve the legacy of Fanga, a song, and dance that acknowledges our relationship with the Earth. |
