Description | In light of the recent awareness to systemic issues and their long-term effects within the black community, the Black Student Union wanted to further address the efforts of combating anti-blackness by hosting a series of weekly open-forums. This shall allow a brave space for students, faculty, staff, BIPOC members; allies; community figures; and other guests to openly discuss issues, share personal experiences; showcase solidarity; and listen closely to various concepts around the black community. In the final week of Black History Month, we will be conversing around the rich complexity within the black community. Exploring/affirming how blackness is not a monolith and how it cannot be defined by one’s skin tone, hair, environment raised in, and lingo. |
