DescriptionIn light of the recent awareness of systemic issues and their long-term effects within the black community, the Black Student Union wanted to further address the efforts of combating anti-blackness by hosting a series of weekly open-forums. This shall allow a brave space for students, faculty, staff, BIPOC members; allies; community figures; and other guests to openly discuss issues, share personal experiences; showcase solidarity; and listen closely to various concepts around the black community.

In the 2nd week of Black history month, we will be conversing around the deep-seated strained relationship between black men and women. We’ll be diving into topics related to the factors that have caused this phenomenon, colorism, dating, the dynamic of the black family, imbalance of loyalty between the two sexes, and ways in which we can bridge this divide.
