Little Stars Preschool in Snoqualmie is looking for a nurturing, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our 3/4’s classroom team. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and wants to be part of a supportive, collaborative school community.

Schedule

Ideal schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Flexibility is possible with the schedule if not available full time.

About the Role:
The Preschool Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 3–4. This role is hands-on and active, working closely with children throughout the day to support learning, social development, routines, and play.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, lessons, and transitions. Help maintain a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment. Assist children with routines including arrival, bathroom breaks, snacks, lunch, rest time, and dismissal. Engage with children during play, centers, circle time, and outdoor activities. Help manage classroom materials, set up activities, and assist with clean up. Support social-emotional development, positive behavior guidance, and conflict resolution. Supervise children closely to ensure safety at all times. Communicate respectfully and professionally with staff and families. Follow all preschool policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures.

Ideal Candidate:
Has a genuine love for working with young children
Is patient, warm, and emotionally responsive
Can take direction but also work independently and anticipate classroom needs
Enjoys being active, creative, and engaged throughout the day
Is reliable, punctual, and professional
Comfortable working as part of a team
Prior preschool, childcare, or early childhood experience preferred (but not required)

Requirements:
Ability to pass a background check
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and participate in active play
