Description:
Training for home care opportunity? Great opportunity for someone studying for tech work in healthcare. This is a temporary job for part-time one week, but could lead to more. Looking for someone to prepare (defrost) and serve pre-made frozen meals plus prepare drinks, serve and clean-up after meals for 81 year old male (my husband) for the week of June 24 – July 1, four hours daily between 10 am to 2 pm. This would be for the lunch meal at noon and defrosting and laying out a meal for my adult son to serve for dinner. This would also include taking my husband to the bathroom upon arrival. He is a massive stroke victim who can weakly walk (with help) down the stairs to the table for meals and also to that bathroom. Would involve bathroom wiping) He is on a Foley catheter and my son takes care of that (though you could learn to empty the catheter, good experience for someone training for medical tech position). He sleeps the majority of the time during those hours. He had a massive stroke in May 2024 and cannot speak (aphasia), difficulty swallowing (dysphasia and I will have food already puréed and in the freezer), and due to large amount of brain injury has lost cognitive skills (can’t read, recognize letters, words, numbers, tell time, work phone or TV controller.) He does, though, have feelings and sensitivities. I will be out of town for those dates. I may have other shorter one day times at various dates prior to that week. He is six foot and 200 lb (or was) so having strength is a plus though my son (over 6 ft and strong) also lives with us and is there for the strength needed and Foley care. The picture is of us a year before the massive stroke.
