Leanna is a 41 year old white female with developmental disabilities who is in need of a live-in caregiver. She has lived at home with her mom and dad all of her life. After the high school transition program, Leanna worked in the community at a variety of jobs. For the last 10 years or so, she has not worked. She is able to walk and even run short distances, eat, dress and care for herself (with some exceptions). She reads and writes simple words or phrases. Leanna understands everyday speech and carries on simple conversations. Most of the time, she is well adjusted, quiet and pleasant, occupying herself with iPad, phone, puzzles, Legos, daily trips to McDonalds and her daily routines at home.
Leanna's home is a beautiful, fully furnished and air-conditioned 2600 sq.ft. two story house located in on a quiet street surrounded by supportive neighbors. It is a 5 minute drive to parks and shopping. The main floor has a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, family room and bathroom… plenty of room where caregivers and residents can enjoy space. The upstairs has a large master bedroom and bath for the caregiver, main bathroom and 4 bedrooms. This shared living home is privately owned and operated.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIES
• Provide appropriate support for all aspects of the Leanna’s activities of daily living
• Plan, purchase, and prepare nutritious, fresh meals and snacks
• Ensure shared living spaces are kept clean
• Listen and assist with problem-solving.
• Facilitate participation in community activities
• Assist with transportation
• Assist with schedules and routines
• Assist with medications
• Teach household skills
• Assist with decision making
• Monitor hygiene

The caregiver must be fun-loving, friendly and committed to creating an environment where Leanna can continue to thrive and flourish. They should possess the following attributes:

COMPENSATION (or Income/Benefits)
● $4000 tax-free monthly income through WA State Department of Social and Health Services
● Housing package including free rent and food stipend
● Health insurance (Medical/Dental/Vision) valued @ $943/month
● Time off: Scheduled time off M-F (TBD), plus one weekend every other week (negotiable).
2 weeks PTO per year and 9 holidays
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Must have a valid Driver's License, proof of current auto insurance, and a reliable form of transportation.
• Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprint check, as required per WA state law
Receive the following agency-paid trainings:
• 75-hour training for Home Care Aide Certification (75 hours) Employee will be paid for all training hours including CE trainings.
• CPR/first aid and blood-borne pathogens class
• Maintain HCA Certification with 12 hours of continuing education per year
OR
• Must have a current Home Care Aide certification (HCA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Nursing (LPN/RN)
• Must have a current CPR/first aid and blood-borne pathogens class
• Must have current DSHS approved 12 hours of continuing education
