POSITION SUMMARY:
This position requires a highly motivated person who has a passion for serving women and children experiencing homelessness. The Child Program Specialist oversees child-centered programming at Acres of Diamonds under the supervision of the Child Development Manager. This includes helping to provide age specific programing for children ranging from infant to 12 years old during program nights (Monday and Thursday). Includes training of volunteers to ensure child safety, run the program and be the on-site expert on child safety. The successful candidate will have the proven ability to run programs, troubleshoot issues, coordination with our volunteers, and provide holistic support to kids with trauma. The position requires a heart of compassion and love for helping people, and the ability to practice sound judgment and discernment, with the goal of helping kids break the cycle of homelessness.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and active in a Christian church.
•Minimum 2 years’ experience in working with children, preferably children with a background of trauma.
•Experience working with kids from diverse backgrounds.
•Computer skills: General working knowledge of Office 365, Outlook, and Internet navigation.
•Experience using Trauma-Informed Care and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) a bonus.
•Valid Washington State driver’s license and ability to travel to offsite meetings.
