- UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
- NEW BUSINESS:
- Presentation: Implement a quarterly fee for TSO students
- Asking for ASG’s approval, for TSO students to implement a once-per-quarter fee on TSO student’s tuition, to fundraise for quarterly speakers and guest instructors.
- This fee was stopped a few years ago (due to compliance issues), so is this not the same thing? Requesting a different way to implement the fee this time. TSO is coming to ASG for their permission.
- Is there data available for ASG to review, in regards to the seminar costs and speakers-fees? Can work with the TSO Treasurer to gather this information.
- Is there a reason that TSO does not want to go to ASG, STF, etc. for the funding? Why raise money this way? TSO students are mostly well-off and have the ability to pay for their selves and this is what we choose to do.
- Aren’t TSO students as well? Why not charge a membership fee? This may be against Bellevue College rules, in regards to fundraising.
- Why not do bake-sales and other events, the way other student groups raise funds? No kitchen available for one, but most of our students are older and do not want to do this.
- Suggestion: to charge a voluntary fee every quarter, or a fee for any seminars that are held. The issue with this would be the collection process, especially in a virtual environment at this time. This may possibly work when we return in-person, but there would be details to work out and finalize.
- C-Building renovation
- ASG President has connected with a architectural student, who is interested in this process, forwarded their name to Mike Kaptik
- Connect ASG and Mike Kaptik for follow-up meeting to keep process moving forward, look at schedules for meeting invites
