Daniel Ngoy

Hey, I’m Daniel Ngoy, a Bellevue College student from the Democratic Republic of Congo, studying data analysis. This year, I serve as the ASG Executive Justice. I wrote a legislative agenda and surveyed over 700 Bellevue College students to get their input. The legislative agenda addresses critical issues that impacts students, like increased mental health support, international student payment plans, access to prayer rooms, more financial aid support, lower cost of school material, etc. I also worked closely with Washington Student Association, we lobbied, advocated, testified on house and senate bills that will better the lives of students in our state. I represented Bellevue College, and we managed to facilitate the passing of 6 bills which will positively impact students all over Washington state. I am running for ASGBC president this year because I believe we can do more. With your support, we can create a campus where every voice is heard, and every student feels valued. Together, we’ll build a community that celebrates diversity, fosters inclusivity, and empowers students to shape their own future. Join me in this journey to make Bellevue College a better place for all. Vote Daniel Ngoy for ASGBC President, and let’s make our vision a reality.

Jory Hamilton

Hi Bulldogs, my name is Jory, and here’s my story. I returned to Bellevue College after a near-death experience in October 2020 to prepare for medical school and discover ways to serve our community. As someone with learning disabilities, the son of an immigrant, and who grew up in a poor single-parent household, I believe in championing a culture of dignity and belonging. I am running for ASG President because Bellevue College represents a place for second chances and opportunities for those who would otherwise not receive them. My goals are to raise student enrollment and continue the work of our ASG board of directors to invite and welcome people from all walks of life to improve the student experience. I served as a Seattle Children’s volunteer and president for the following BC clubs: Docs and Dents, Biology, Philosophy, and Health Careers. I am the Kirkland Human Services Commission Chair, Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity Northwest Domain Director, Lake Washington PTSA Council Programs Vice President, outgoing Juanita Booster Club President, 2023 Track and Field 3A State Runner-up Head Coach, and lead the UW PKT Chapter Judicial Board. Please consider my experience and inclusiveness as I ask for your vote for ASG President (May 6-9). Let’s win together!

Vice President Candidate:

Daniella Salima

My name is Daniella Amisi Malaïka Salima, I was born on March 30th, 2005, in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa. I’m a Christian, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a fashionista 🙂 and someone who is always eager to learn new things. At my core, I’m a natural leader, and I’m passionate about driving positive change. I have 3 siblings – two sisters and one brother but I have also lived with two beautiful cousins that makes it 5. I grew up in Kinshasa surrounded by the vibrant energy of daily life. From the lively markets to the colorful festivals, there was always something new to explore and learn. Throughout my time in Congo, I did primary school at Complexe Scolaire les Okapis and did secondary school at the Academy of Science and Technology (Ascitech) and earned my high school diploma at College Samuel-Levi. Here, I not only earned my diploma but also discovered my passion for leadership and community involvement where I served as the President of the Students’ Parliament. In this role, I learned valuable lessons in teamwork, communication, and decision-making.In September 2022, I took the big leap and came to the US to pursue my higher education. Stepping onto American soil was a total game-changer for me. My multilingual background in French, Swahili, and Lingala, I knew I had a rich cultural heritage to bring to the table.I’m majoring in software development at Bellevue College. I’ve been killing it in my classes and I’m part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

At Bellevue, I’ve been able to really dive into some amazing opportunities. I’m a Student Leader with the Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, where I lead small group discussions and coordinate outreach events.  I’m also the President of the United Nations Association club, and I’ve represented the college as a delegate at the National Model UN conference twice – the NMUN 2023 edition and the NMUN 2024 edition as the head delegate. I even got to go to the UN headquarters in New York City. On top of that, I’m the Parliamentarian for the Black Student Union, where I’ve helped organize some cool campus events like the Martin Luther King Jr. week celebration, a Congolese panel, and Black History Month activities. I’ve also worked as a Global Leader in the International Education office, helping with cross-cultural exchange programs, and supporting international students. Additionally, I participated in the New Student Orientation at Bellevue College, welcoming new international students and helping them acclimate to their new environment. And now, I’m serving as a student senator in the Associated Student Government, as well as the International Student Affinity Coordinator in student engagement. I’m always looking for ways to be a voice for my fellow students and advocate for their needs. Outside of school, I dedicated my time to serving my community. I volunteered at the church daycare, where I had the joy of watching over children during Sunday worship services. One of my most impactful experiences was my involvement with the Seattle Chamber of Commerce in 2023. As an Assistant to Congresswoman Solange N. Masumbuko, I had the opportunity to promote her NGO, the Action for Development and Empowerment of African Communities (ADEAC). This experience ignited my passion for advocacy and community outreach, inspiring me to continue making a difference wherever I go. I’ve learned so much, faced so many challenges, and discovered inner strengths I never knew I had. But through it all, I’ve held onto the lessons of my past and the drive to embrace every obstacle as an opportunity to grow. I’m committed to using my platform to create positive change and empower the people around me. The road ahead is full of exciting possibilities, and I can’t wait to see the impact I can make, both in the Bellevue College community and beyond.
