Since moving to Seattle in 2006, Leah has directed <em>Julius Caesar<\/em> for Seattle\u2019s Handwritten Productions and her work at the UW \u2013 School of Drama included last season\u2019s <em>The Arabian Nights<\/em> by Mary Zimmerman, and two new plays that she adapted and directed: <em>FAUST,<\/em> an adaptation of Christopher Marlowe\u2019s<em> Doctor Faustus<\/em> and <em>The Boy Who Couldn\u2019t Grow Up<\/em> a new play inspired by the life and work of JM Barrie. Future projects include resurrecting <em>Pan<\/em> for the Fringe, founding Off Road Shakespeare; a company that will introduce itself to Seattle with a processional outdoor production of <em>Midsummer<\/em>, and directing Caroline Bird\u2019s <em>The Trojan Women<\/em> for Civic Rep.<br \/>\n<em><u>Special Achievements and Honors<br \/>\n<\/u><\/em>Leah is a member of Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honor Society. Until recently, Jay was the Executive Producer for Radical Entertainment in Vancouver, supervising all games in development. Previously, he was Executive Producer at WildTangent and also Sierra\/Dynamix. Prior to that, he was a successful entrepreneur for twelve years, founding and operating five companies, including Hesware in 1980, which was the first company in which Microsoft ever invested. Finally, she is the Director of the Marin County Office of Bauman College of Nutrition where she is Director of Cognitive Brain Coaching.<em><u><br \/>\nPersonal interests<\/u><\/em><br \/>\nAudrey likes hiking and traveling to absorb the various cultures and languages around the world.\u00a0She has a particular fascination about the use of vision and sound by animals. She has studied endangered big eared bats in West Virginia, primates at Bucknell College, and dolphins in the Pacific Ocean. Later, he became the Director of the Student Health Service at the University of Wyoming from 1955 to 1961. Next, he worked as a Resident in Psychiatry at Stanford Medical Center &amp; Veterans Administration Hospital, Palo Alto, California from 1961 to 1964. From 1964 to 1984, he was a Staff Psychiatrist at the Veterans Administration Hospital, American Lake, Tacoma until he retired. Then he worked as a Psychiatry Consultant to the Washington State Office of Disability Insurance, Tumwater, WA from 1988-1991.<br \/>\n<em><u>Experience related to course topic if different from professional experience<br \/>\n<\/u><\/em>He has been seriously interested in geology since age fourteen, but never considered geology as a way to make a living. When his medical credentials were established, he devoted his spare time to the study of geology. Being a person in love with the crust of the Earth, he started mountain climbing, with particular attention to the glaciers and glacial land forms. While working at the University of Wyoming he studied Geomorphology, Paleontology &amp; Structural Geology for credit.\u00a0 By means of field trips, he acquired considerable understanding of Plate Tectonics and the geology of the western United States, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, the Canadian Rockies, British Columbia, New Zealand, and Iceland.\u00a0He has experienced several earthquakes, including the 1949, 1965 and 2001 events.<br \/>\n<em><u>Special Achievements and Honors<br \/>\n<\/u><\/em>He has been a member of the Northwest Geological Society (Seattle) since 1965. He edited the monthly newsletter for that society for twenty years. His efforts were so much appreciated that on three occasions he was awarded the \u201cTool of Geology\u201d plaque for outstanding service to the geological community. Over the decades, he participated in most of that Society\u2019s field trips in Washington and British Columbia. The Asan Plenum is an annual gathering of leading experts and scholars to discuss the pressing challenges facing the world. As a rapporteur, in addition to attending multiple sessions during the plenum, he wrote session sketches for two panels, including \u201cBack to History in East Asia\u201d &amp; \u201cThe New Asian Economic Order.\u201d These session summaries were utilized by local, regional and global media in their coverage of the plenum. Following the plenum, he wrote longer, more detailed descriptions of each panel to be published in the Asan Plenum 2014-Proceedings.<br \/>\nClint has also been honored as the recipient of the competitive Richard B. Wesley Endowed Ph.D. Fellowship at the Jackson School, which is given to students to work specifically in the foundational fields of PVS (Peace, Violence, and Security) and\/or SMS (States, Markets, Societies) in combination with one or more of the major powers of Asia.<br \/>\n<em><u>Personal interests<br \/>\n<\/u><\/em>\u00a0He was born in Chicago and moved with his family to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and then Tucson, AZ during his adolescent years. Although accepted into the University of Minnesota\u2032s Medical School, he chose instead to accept a five-year NDEA Fellowship in Geological Sciences at the California Institute of Technology. While at Caltech he also began studying Russian language and became very interested in interdisciplinary environmental and social sciences and their roles in alternative approaches to economic-ecologic development. After receiving his M.S. degree in geological sciences in June 1968, he resigned his fellowship at Caltech and was accepted into the doctoral program in geography at U.C. Berkeley where he focused his studies on environmental problems in the former Soviet Union, especially water pollution problems.<br \/>\n<em><u>Professional experience<br \/>\n<\/u><\/em>He is currently Professor Emeritus, University of Washington, Department of Geography, after teaching in the Geography department there from 1977 to 2014, the Departmental of Environmental Studies from 1989 to 2004, and the Jackson School of International Studies from 1977-2014.\u00a0 He was a member of the Department of Geography faculty at Ohio State University From September 1972 until June 1977 and taught two summer courses at UC Berkeley in 1974.\u00a0 He is still an affiliate professor at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Pt.
