Jennifer Sohonie – Director of Community Solutions

Jennifer is the leader of some of BCCE’s most popular programs including TELOS for active retirees, World Languages, Art & Design, and Personal Enrichment.  She earned her BA in Sociology from Duke University and her Master’s in Education from American Intercontinental University.  She came from the realm of Culinary Education, where she held the role of Campus Director for Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Seattle. In her tenure with the culinary programs, she started as a faculty member, was Director of Education and finally Campus Director.  Prior to Le Cordon Bleu, she worked in the fine dining segment of the culinary industry. She worked in restaurants, hotels, and owned a business where they prepared freshly cooked meals delivered to your home.

Jennifer recognizes that Bellevue College has a quality learning environment with instructors and staff who care deeply about the student experience. She hopes to increase the scope of the programs. In growing the programs, BCCE will be better able to address the needs of students, allowing them to fulfill their lifelong learning potential. She wants to know what is in demand within our community and work closely with instructors to provide an optimal learning experience for our students.

Jennifer lives to travel. She loves to travel with her family. She will travel anywhere. It reminds her that the vast majority of people have kind hearts.
