Cultural Lunches – Especial Edition for Latino Heritage Month: CUBA<\/p>\n\n\n\n

30 students that enroll will receive a gift. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You do not have to enroll to attend any of the cultural lunches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learn how to make TOSTONES and also MADUROS, staple dishes throughout the Caribbean and Latin America!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tostones<\/strong> are crisp, flattened plantains that are often served as appetizers and side dishes. Savory tostones are made with unripe green plantains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sweet maduros<\/strong>, which are made with very ripe, almost black, yellow plantains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Chef Julio Ortiz<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The owner of the Twisted Cuban Caf\u00e9, Julio Ortiz, was born and raised in Havana, Cuba.\u00a0 He came to the United States when he was 24 years old and started working in the restaurant industry.\u00a0 He has owned and operated The Twisted Caf\u00e9 since 2009. The Cuban sandwich became the most popular menu item, so after much encouragement from existing clientele he decided to convert The Twisted Caf\u00e9 sandwich shop into a full service restaurant called Twisted Cuban Caf\u00e9 & Bar serving authentic Cuban food with many of the recipes handed down from his mother.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
