In this talk, Kenji Imasaki, a computer engineer and the president of Seattle IT Japanese Professionals (SIJP), will talk about their purpose and challenges to bring English Computer Science Education to Japan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SIJP has been using\u00a0<\/span>Seesaw\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/u>for our Computer Science (CS) class as it is easy to use and helps students engage in the class using a tablet or a computer. We believe that this is the class format we should be aiming for. We conducted our class in English, while livestreaming the very same class to kids in Japan. We believe that learning CS in Japanese has its limitations and is not the most optimal. We hope CS educators in Japan will come to share our view.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He will also talk about SIJP\u2019s latest class, Sort & Search Algorithms, in Kumamoto in July 2018 (<\/span>report<\/a><\/span><\/u>).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The audience of this talk is educators in US and Japan who are interested in ICT-based STEM education. Also, parents who want their child to study CS.<\/span><\/p>\n
