Hailed as \u2018phenomenal\u2019 by the General-Anzeiger newspaper in Bonn, Germany, Mexican guitarist Pablo Garibay has established himself as a leading force on the international classical guitar scene, with his pioneering interpretations of well-known classics and impressive performances of lesser-known masterpieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An eminent performer of the great Guitar concertos \u2013 notably those by Rodrigo, Vivaldi, Giuliani, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Manuel Ponce, and Villa-Lobos, Pablo Garibay is particularly known for his interpretations of Latin American music having performed premieres by contemporary composers Hebert V\u00e1zquez, Tom\u00e1s Barreiro, Ernesto Garcia de Le\u00f3n, Di\u00f3genes Rivas, Mateo Barreiro, and Ernesto Cordero. As a concerto soloist, Pablo Garibay made his professional debut with the Orquesta Filarm\u00f3nica de la Ciudad de Mexico and has since appeared as soloist with orchestras throughout Europe and the Americas. He made his US debut with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra working with JoAnn Falletta from whom he was described as being \u2018a guitarist of rare sensitivity, nuance and musicality\u2019. Recent performances have included appearances with the Dortmunder Philharmoniker, National Symphonic Orchestra, OFUNAM, Virginia Symphony Orchestra and New Britain Symphony (USA), with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists, Evgueny Svetlanov Orchestra in the Tchaikovsky Hall, the Orquesta Cuidad de Almeria (Spain) the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie (Belgium) the Nieders\u00e4chsisches Sinfonieorchester (Germany) and the South African Chamber Orchestra with whom he performed the South African premiere of Manuel Ponce\u2019s Concierto del Sur in Pretoria, South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Pablo Garibay has appeared at major international festivals throughout Russia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Costa Rica, Mexico and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A winner numerous international prizes, including 1st prize at the prestigious International Francisco T\u00e1rrega Guitar Competition (Spain), Manuel Ponce Guitar Competition (Mexico City), the Ren\u00e9 Bartoli Competition (Aix en Provence, France) the JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Concerto Competition (Buffalo, USA) and the International Guitar Competition Aachen (Germany), Pablo Garibay studied in the UNAM University of M\u00e9xico and at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik Franz Liszt Weimar (Germany).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Described as \u2018exceptional in every regard\u2019 by Norbert Kraft, A&R Executive \u2013 Naxos records, Pablo Garibay is no stranger to the recording studio, having recently released recordings of music ranging from Dowland, to Ravel and Ponce on the Urtext and Fleur de son classics labels. He has recorded for RTVE in Spain and has featured internationally on live television, radio and web broadcasts. Among his upcoming projects is an album with URTEXT and the OJUEM, under the baton of Gustavo Rivero Weber, where he will present Ponce\u2019s Concierto del Sur and Castelnuovo-Tedesco\u2019s Concerto in D Major, Op. 99. An essential part of his initiatives is the launch of the portal www.guitarlabonline.com<\/a>, where he creates online courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
