Recognized as one of Japan’s premier guitarists, Shin-ichi Fukuda is celebrated worldwide for his intelligent and masterful interpretations of contemporary guitar music. His performances have been hailed as “sensuously beautiful tone… lyrical and sublime” – San Francisco Classical Voice.
With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Fukuda has captivated audiences across the globe, performing solo recitals, concertos with orchestras, and chamber music in major cities.
Beyond his performing career, Fukuda is a passionate and highly respected teacher. He has mentored numerous students who have gone on to achieve great acclaim, including renowned Japanese guitarists Kaori Muraji, Daisuke Suzuki, and Yasuji Ohagi. He currently serves as a guest professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (China), Osaka College of Music, Hiroshima’s Elisabeth University of Music, and Showa Music University.
In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Fukuda was awarded the prestigious Art Encouragement Music Prize by the Japanese government in 2011. With over 80 recordings to his name, he continues to leave an indelible mark on the world of classical guitar.
