Renewal Food Bank is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to food rescue and providing food to those experiencing food insecurity. Customers can shop weekly and receive produce, meat, shelf-stable groceries, baby supplies, pet food, and hygiene items. Renewal is a vibrant community space where families and volunteers return week after week. We strive to serve our families\u2019 holistic needs, providing access to food as well as a sense of community and belonging.<\/p>\n

Position Summary
\nThe Volunteer Grant Writer will play a crucial role in our fundraising efforts by researching, drafting, and collaborating with the fundraising team to complete grant proposals. We seek to apply to foundations, corporations, and government agencies. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong writing and research skills who can work independently to meet deadlines. Our fundraising team is small and has many other responsibilities, so the ability to work independently and drive projects is critical. <\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities
\nResearching: Identifying potential grant opportunities that align with the organization\u2019s mission and programs.
\nProposal Writing: Writing compelling grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents.
\nCollaborating: Working closely with the Executive Director, Development Manager, and other team members to gather necessary information for proposals and ensure timely submission.<\/p>\n
Qualifications
\nExperience: Previous experience in nonprofit grant writing or a related field is required
\nWriting Skills: Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive and clear grant proposals.
\nResearch Skills: Strong research abilities to identify potential funding sources and gather relevant information for proposals.
\nAttention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all grant-related documents.
\nTime Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
\nPassion: A strong commitment to the mission of Renewal Food Bank.
\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and familiarity with grant management software (if applicable).<\/p>\n
