Customers can shop weekly and receive produce, meat, shelf-stable groceries, baby supplies, pet food, and hygiene items. Renewal is a vibrant community space where families and volunteers return week after week. We strive to serve our families\u2019 holistic needs, providing access to food as well as a sense of community and belonging.<\/p>\n<p>Reports to: Renewal Food Bank Executive Director<\/p>\n<p>Position Summary<br \/>\nThe Operations Manager is a part-time position responsible for the essential task of having food in stock and ready to distribute each day to meet the needs of Renewal Food Bank\u2019s customers. In coordination with food bank staff, the Operations Manager ensures the operation of the food bank meets the highest standards of safety and service. From receiving our weekly food deliveries, to sorting, organizing, and tracking inventory of food, to running the operations three days a week, this is a high energy and multitasking oriented role. Our model is a grocery-style food bank with volunteer assisted stations, and relies completely on food rescue and donated food. This position is a direct support to the Executive Director and, together with the Transportation and Development Managers, covers the operations of the food bank in the Director\u2019s absence. <\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<br \/>\nSupport and manage three weekly food bank operation days, including preparation before open and closing procedures after. <br \/>\nMaintain food bank areas to ensure organization, daily stocking, sanitizing, cleaning, vacuuming, date check food items, rotating product.<br \/>\nTrack and maintain food safety procedures according to our guidelines, including date checking food, monitoring recalls, checking freezers and refrigerators to make sure they are working at appropriate temperatures, etc<br \/>\nCollect, receive and store donations; record and report donation details including tracking and reporting all poundage, in concert with the Executive Director.<br \/>\nBuild connections with community members and customers of the facility, ensuring a warm, abundant, and personal experience for all.<br \/>\nAssist in managing partnerships with stakeholders, including sources of food, peer organizations, donors, community groups, schools, and faith-based organizations. <br \/>\nLead the management of volunteers during operations and off hours, partnering with staff to ensure quality experiences for volunteers that encourage retention and relationship development. <br \/>\nIn coordination with the Executive Director, manage any facility-related issues.<br \/>\nOversee the food bank operations when the Executive Director is off-site or on leave.<\/p>\n<p>Education\/Experience<br \/>\nHigh School Diploma or GED<br \/>\nMust be at least 21 years old and have a valid WA State Driver\u2019s License<br \/>\nMinimum one year employment experience<br \/>\nPrevious supervisory experience preferred <\/p>\n<p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required<br \/>\nBilingual strongly preferred <br \/>\nRead, write and speak English to the extent necessary to collaborate with the team, understand instructions, and take and deliver messages.<br \/>\nPrioritize multiple projects and exhibit supreme attention to details<br \/>\nDemonstrate excellent communication skills and present oneself in a professional manner<br \/>\nAbility to interact with coworkers, clients and the general public in a positive manner<br \/>\nWork successfully and maintain good relationships with diverse demographics<br \/>\nAbility and willingness to keep information confidential<br \/>\nPhysical strength required to lift cases of canned goods, tables and other items weighing up to sixty (60) pounds repetitively for up to four or more hours daily.<br \/>\nWillingness to comply with safety standards and procedures for both personal and public safety<br \/>\nAbility to work early mornings and weekends as needed<\/p>\n<p>This position accrues prorated vacation time and is eligible for an annual performance bonus.<br \/>\nQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
