This pivotal role ensures the smooth operation of our synagogue&#039;s facilities and supports various programs and events throughout the year.<br \/>\nResponsibilities:<br \/>\nFacilities Management:<br \/>\nSet up and clean up for synagogue services, programs, and events.<br \/>\nSupervise site during services and events to ensure smooth operations.<br \/>\nProvide audio\/visual support as needed for services and programs.<br \/>\nManage upkeep of equipment and supplies to maintain health and safety standards.<br \/>\nCoordinate activities such as parking, waste disposal, and building security.<br \/>\nOversee volunteers and arrange repair work when necessary.<br \/>\nMonitor facility use by outside renters, caterers, and vendors.<br \/>\nProgram Coordination and Support:<br \/>\nWork closely with Religious School faculty and Rabbi to supervise youth education programs on Saturdays.<br \/>\nEnsure availability and setup of facilities for school classes, Tefilah, and other events.<br \/>\nAssist lay leaders and clergy with administrative and logistical support for Shabbat, holidays, festivals, life-cycle events, and special celebrations.<br \/>\nOrganize and implement weekly Shabbat kiddushes, meals, and other special events.<br \/>\nGeneral Operations:<br \/>\nOversee synagogue operations including IT systems, communications, and security.<br \/>\nManage procurement of goods and services, and coordinate with vendors and service providers.<br \/>\nMaintain adequate inventory of kitchen, office, and building supplies.<br \/>\nRun errands as needed (e.g., post office, bank).<br \/>\nRequirements:<br \/>\nAvailability on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Jewish holidays.<br \/>\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.<br \/>\nStrong organizational and communication skills.<br \/>\nPrior experience in facilities management, event coordination, or similar roles preferred.<br \/>\nFamiliarity with Jewish traditions and practices is a plus.<br \/>\nCompensation:<br \/>\n$25 per hour.<br \/>\nEstimated 550 hours per year, 10 hours a week.<br \/>\nEstimated annual cost: $12,500 &#8211; $15,000.<br \/>\nThis position is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting the operations and community activities of a synagogue.
