\nPosition Summary: Kol Ami Synagogue in Kirkland, Washington is seeking a dedicated and organized Facilities and Programs Manager to oversee all aspects of facility management and program coordination. This pivotal role ensures the smooth operation of our synagogue's facilities and supports various programs and events throughout the year.
\nResponsibilities:
\nFacilities Management:
\nSet up and clean up for synagogue services, programs, and events.
\nSupervise site during services and events to ensure smooth operations.
\nProvide audio\/visual support as needed for services and programs.
\nManage upkeep of equipment and supplies to maintain health and safety standards.
\nCoordinate activities such as parking, waste disposal, and building security.
\nOversee volunteers and arrange repair work when necessary.
\nMonitor facility use by outside renters, caterers, and vendors.
\nProgram Coordination and Support:
\nWork closely with Religious School faculty and Rabbi to supervise youth education programs on Saturdays.
\nEnsure availability and setup of facilities for school classes, Tefilah, and other events.
\nAssist lay leaders and clergy with administrative and logistical support for Shabbat, holidays, festivals, life-cycle events, and special celebrations.
\nOrganize and implement weekly Shabbat kiddushes, meals, and other special events.
\nGeneral Operations:
\nOversee synagogue operations including IT systems, communications, and security.
\nManage procurement of goods and services, and coordinate with vendors and service providers.
\nMaintain adequate inventory of kitchen, office, and building supplies.
\nRun errands as needed (e.g., post office, bank).
\nRequirements:
\nAvailability on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Jewish holidays.
\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.
\nStrong organizational and communication skills.
\nPrior experience in facilities management, event coordination, or similar roles preferred.
\nFamiliarity with Jewish traditions and practices is a plus.
\nCompensation:
\n$25 per hour.
\nEstimated 550 hours per year, 10 hours a week.
\nEstimated annual cost: $12,500 – $15,000.
