Social Media Marketing Intern

Do you have experience building a strong personal or professional social media presence? If so, Stated Nutrition is looking for you to become our Social Media / PR Intern!
Stated Nutrition specializes in 100% all natural and functional products in the sports nutrition and wellness space. We’re looking for a creative, social-media savvy intern to help build our social and online presence.
This is an unpaid, part-time internship position with the opportunity to grow into a paid position within the company.
The successful candidate is passionate about health, wellness, or fitness and excited about the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing nutrition company. Candidates must keep up-to-date with all things trending, be detail-oriented, have excellent writing and grammar skills, be willing and able to take direction, and have extremely strong communication skills.
This role will work directly with Stated Nutrition’s managers / partners, to grow our position in the nutrition industry through social media marketing campaigns, social media outreach, and analytics to measure impact. Under the direction of Stated Nutrition’s managing partners, the Social Media / PR Intern will interface with all aspects of the business to fulfill the digital marketing objectives of the company.
We are ideally looking for an intern that agrees to a minimum 3-month commitment, with the ability to commit to at least 15 hours per week.
-Implement understanding of general marketing concepts and principles into social media strategy.
-Build out accounts and leverage knowledge of social channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, Snapchat and LinkedIn to align messages for audience.
-Leverage marketing and digital tracking / analytics to capture ROI.
-Provide creative input and suggest different ways to communicate marketing messages.
-Create unique written and visual content that clearly communicates the firms’ message.
-Develop editorial calendar for topics / timing / posts across social media accounts (FB, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn).
-Suggest topics and ghost-write blog posts that will align to target topics and themes outlined in editorial calendar.
-Manage content development process and timeline including topics, posts, key messages, review process, included imagery and infographics.
-Establish strategy to grow audience / awareness and metrics to track success
Identity key areas, hashtags, or audiences to follow, subscribe to, post to, or cross-post from, to drive greater audience visibility.
Stay current with all best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to PR and social media.
-Research social media paid advertising and weigh value against goals and objectives.
-Research influencers, and create influencers lists.
-Co create media monitoring reports and compile influencer send outs.
-Compile contact lists and key channels for company recognition opportunities.
Research and collect press clippings for topics and trends.
-Create or update company’s PR/marketing systems &/or databases.
-Assist with managing content and look-and-feel for firm’s website. Work with firm’s web design professional to keep firm’s website looking fresh and cutting-edge at all times.
-Strong written communication skills, with an ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Excellent English spelling and grammar skills.
-Strong verbal communication skills and excellent presentation skills.
-Demonstrated ability to present information (visually and orally) and quickly/accurately respond to questions from a group of managers, clients, customers, and/or the public.
-Ability to maintain upmost level of professionalism to ensure the company’s brand is always best represented.
-Ability to exercise the appropriate level of discretion in communications to uphold the firm’s company/HR policies, public image, and to protect the firm’s confidential information.
-Ability to develop creative and compelling captions for social media posts
-Ability to produce creative content on a moment’s notice (ex. promotional materials, email templates, website content, etc.)
-Strong working knowledge of business and personal social media platforms, contexts for usage and aware of the appropriate content/tone for each.
-Ability to compile marketing statistics, accurately and efficiently analyze them for key metrics, and create timely/relevant monthly reports for management.
-Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
-Demonstrated ability to drive marketing work-streams to a close, with high-quality outcomes and by required deadlines.
-Ability to operate under tight deadlines, or in the face of ambiguity and still deliver timely, high-quality results.
-Works cooperatively with company’s management, employees, vendors, and clients
-Self-driven, and ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
-Creative, open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, self-motivated and adaptable.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Experience executing an end-to end social media marketing campaign, from the initial planning stages, through final reporting, to the growth/maintenance phase.
Experience managing multiple social media accounts for businesses, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
Experience managing social media posting schedules and creating content for companies and clients.
Experience with editorial and posting calendar management.
Experience designing visual content with Photoshop.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop or similar applications.
Experience managing social media postings manually and through via Buffer or Hootsuite.
Onsite on at our Kirkland, WA office part-time (we can be flexible on hours/days).
Onsite at client offices as required for in-person meetings and events.
Occasional business travel may be required (most likely domestically).
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This is an unpaid internship with the opportunity to advance into a full time, paid position. Bonuses and other goal related incentives will be offered during internship and will depend on each campaign.
