Citizen’s Oath
\nI will say this now and for all days henceforth,
\nThat I pledge to be a citizen for all humanity, as true as they do come.
\nFor although the days may be dark,
\nAnd the Government uncaring.
\nDespite the corporate lies,
\nAnd endless sea of products, falsely advertised.
\nI will not falter,
\nNor will I ever cease to progress.
\nMy eyes shall be discerning,
\nAnd ears attuned to truth.
\nMy hands shall stretch to those in need,
\nAnd my tongue give voice to words of hope.
\nMy heart shall be my compass,
\nIn tangent with my mind.
\nTo lead me down the right path,
\nAnd to never look behind.
\nI choose to stand for the down trodden,
\nTo rise to any task.
\nI will vote in every election,
\nAnd shall do all that is within my grasp.
\nFor if I can only be a single grain of sand for justice,
\nOn the scale that is the world,
\nThen that is all I shall be.
\nBecause though the days are dark,
\nI have pledged to be a citizen for all mankind.
\nOne as true as true can be.<\/p>\n
