We would like to thank all the clubs, staff, and students that helped make this food drive a success. With your support, we were able to raise 15 1/2 boxes of canned food for Hopelink. Below are some pictures of the student leaders who got their heads shaved for food that was raised. Enjoy!
The Student Programs Orientation/Open House will be happening on Thursday, March 24th from 11:00-2:00pm. This is an opportunity for clubs and programs to advertise themselves to the incoming new students of Bellevue College. Sessions about Financial Aid and College Life will also take place. Lunch will be provided. To reserve a club table for your club, email James Storbeck.
Student Programs and the International Student Programs will hold a Japan Relief Fundraiser on Thursday, March 17th from 10:00am-1:00pm in the cafeteria. Various clubs will have tables to sell items or bring awareness of the recent tragedy in Japan.
- The Photography Club (composed of mostly Japanese students) will sell 1,000 handmade origami paper cranes for $1.00 each crane. They will string them together and send it to a university in Sendai at a later date.
- ASG will sell Pray for Japan bumper stickers for $5.00.
- Latin American Culture Club and El Centro Latino will have a table for people to write their thoughts and prayers. This will be mailed with the paper crane.
- Sakura Club will sell Japanese gift items and perform Soranbushi. LGBTQ will have a bake sale to raise funds as well. International Student Programs will have a raffle. The Campus Activities Board will give out buttons in support of the relief efforts. The Indonesian Fellowship club will perform a dance to support the fundraiser. Connie Sugahara will perform a traditional Japanese dance.
Please wear red on March 17th and come to this event between 10am and 1pm in the cafeteria.
The International Student Association is celebrating their 30th Annual International Night on Sat. March 5th at 6:00pm. Tickets are on sale right now for $10 per person in advance or $12 at the door. Highlights of this event are dinner, entertainment and a fashion show. This is an event not to miss. Please buy your tickets as soon as you can as they sell out every single year.
